History of Melrose Mercy
Melrose Mercy has grown out of the 22nd Street community that started in 1917 by Elder Jordan Sr. and his family known as the Deuces. It is an area that boasts the African American Heritage Trail, Carter G. Woodson Museum of African-American History , and Royal Theatre.
What we do
We meet monthly to address neighborhood concerns. We are working to build a sense of community to move the community into the future while honoring the rich history of this area.
